This beautiful Victorian home is the ideal venue for small to medium-sized weddings, with the house itself forming a beautiful backdrop for an outdoor wedding during fine weather, and the large public rooms inside the house providing an elegant option at any time of the year.

Over the years Pen-y-bryn has been the venue of choice for couples from around the world who are looking for something special and memorable for their special day, and many of these couples return for anniversaries or just for a little reminder of that happy occasion. With beautiful gardens surrounding the property, there are numerous options for you to use as the site where you will exchange your vows, and countless locations for photographers to use for those special images.

And if you prefer to hold your ceremony in a church, there are numerous beautiful churches in the town of Oamaru to choose from, with Pen-y-bryn serving as the base for you and your guests to use while in town. Many bridal couples have opted to use our Nest Room as their “honeymoon suite” with members of the bridal party staying in other rooms of the lodge on the night after the wedding.

We are able to provide catering services for your wedding, including preparation of a wedding cake to your specifications. We also cater for rehearsal dinners on the night before the wedding, morning-after breakfasts, and other key events associated with your big day. We can also assist you to find photographers, hairdressers, florists and other key service providers to make sure that every aspect of your big day is to your liking.
