Wine tasting in Kurow

The Waitaki Valley is home to New Zealand’s newest wine appellation, planted as recently as 2001 but already regarded as “the one to watch” by wine cognoscenti. A 45-minute drive from Pen-y-bryn, the centre of the Waitaki wine region is the small town of Kurow, where you will find a small handful of tasting rooms where you can see for yourself why this region is known as “the Burgundy of the South”. For guests who prefer not to drive after sampling the wines, we are able to book a wine tasting excursion–enquire for information.
