Covid-19

March 15, 2020

The novel coronavirus now known as Covid-19 has caused unprecedented disruption to international travel, with flights in and out of China suspended for several weeks, and now the announcement that New Zealand will impose a mandatory 14-day self-isolation regime for virtually all arrivals into the country.

With our background in healthcare, we at Pen-y-bryn wish to be as much a part of the solution to ending this pandemic as possible, so we have decided to enact the most flexible cancellation policies we can to offer our guests peace of mind as they face the disruption of their travel plans.

For this reason, we are waiving cancellation penalties for bookings with us for stays from 15 March 2020 through 30 April 2020 that are cancelled because of Covid-19. Guests who avail themselves of this cancellation policy will also be able to rebook within one year of their original stay dates at the same rate, regardless of whether the normal rate will have changed. We will review the validity dates of this policy as new information on the pandemic becomes available. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact us directly.

For guests who are able to reach us during this period, rest assured that we are taking precautions to sanitise all our rooms, with additional measures taken to prevent the inadvertent spread of infection. To this end, please forgive us if we do not shake hands on welcoming you!

We sincerely hope that all our guests, past, present and future, will remain healthy through this challenging time, and look forward to seeing you again in less virulent times!
